POSITION PURPOSE
Focus on the provision of solution driven outcomes for the business with respect to SAP applications
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Development – Projects:
• Act as an internal SAP technical solution specialist to assist seamlessly stabilise and improve SAP technology solutions
• Be the expert in the provision of Technical development and ABAP programming including ADOBE, LSMW and data transformation,
• Provide FRICE (Forms, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions and Enhancements) support
• Analyse and document SAP processes in line with business activity
• Continuously look for opportunities to standardise the SAP solution
• Actively research and promote new opportunities to utilise existing assets to improve the solution and efficiency of delivery
• Where possible custom develop the system in order to complement and leverage existing SAP functionality
• Document design, enhancements and testing in line with Porter Davis Homes standards
Live Support and Enhancements:
• Receive and manage incidents and escalate them where necessary so as to provide excellence in service to stakeholders
• Assess technical changes
• Log changes to fix issues and enhancements
• Attempt to fix issues and enable enhancements
• Implement, review and close changes
• Take every opportunity to share your knowledge with others and oversee knowledge transfer to key internal stakeholders
• Build mutually beneficial relationships with external vendors and suppliers
• Proactively communicate with stakeholders in addition to assisting the Solutions Team with general SAP technical enquiries
Knowledge Base Contribution:
• Plan, design, evaluate and execute unit and integration testing
• Plan and execute regression and scenario testing
• Provide basic ad-hoc security admin (not development)
• Provide optimal operation of system performance by performance tuning custom developments.
• Manage any potential technical impacts to the productive business, through appropriate testing, documentation and sign-off
• Maintain custom development documentation and standards such as technical specification, data mapping and technical component integration
• Support and maintain the implemented SAP solution to ensure the system’s quality and integrity
• Minimise custom development to avoid vanilla code modification and reduce software maintenance
Innovation:
• Manage multiple Work Requests simultaneously, as business priorities change
• Update/Create Business Process (Functional) Specification, Change Impact Assessment (Detailed) and Test Strategy and Plan
