Overview of job
Design, deploy and maintain infrastructure
- Contribute to the design, implementation and ongoing management of the corporate infrastructure, including networks, servers, OSes and system software
- Lead efforts to standardize operating procedures, technical documentation and deploy-ments.
- Work with the systems administration team to complete capacity planning and scalabil-ity tests.
Deploy and maintain applications
- Work with development teams to define infrastructure requirements for new product deployments.
- Define configuration management and deployment procedures including post-release monitoring and risk analysis.
- Coordinate planning and deployment of major software releases, feature enhancements and bug fixes with various development groups.
Security
- Evaluate, maintain and enhance system security in-line with PCI best practices.
- Interface with infosec teams to design and continuously deliver security-related en-hancements
- High-availability
- Working with other system and database administrators in the systems group to main-tain the service levels of all systems.
- Recovery of applications in the event of a hardware or software failure, working on an on-call basis with other system administrators
Job Requirement
Your Skills and Experience
- 2+ years relevant work experience
- Strong Linux administration skills, especially security-related skills
- Prior experience with Linux server hardening as well as configuring firewall, VPN, proxy and load balancer expected
- Prior experience with configuration management (e.g. Chef, Puppet, SaltStack or Ansible) expected
- Experience with Ubuntu, Nginx, HAProxy, PostgreSQL strongly preferred
- Experience with scripting languages (Bash/Python/Ruby) highly valued
- Experience with Docker and cloud services (AWS, GCP) highly valued
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated with good decision-making skills
- Able to attend to system alerts on an on-call basis
