PRIMARY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage team (5-10 members) to research & develop computer systems applying machine learning state of the art techniques in variety of business domains of Toshiba products & solutions:

• Accountable for technical solutions and leading the team to solve technical issues during the project;
• Accountable for continuously discovering, evaluating and implementing new technologies to optimize development efficiency;
• Conduct training & coaching junior members in the field of machine learning;
• Establishing estimation, propose research & development plan with customer;
• Monitoring and controlling project progress, complying company process;
• Directly involving & instructing team members in essential work of software development (such as requirement definition, software design, implementation, testing).

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct training & coaching junior engineer (if required).

Education & Experiences
• Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Mathematics;
• Master degree or higher at Data Mining, Machine Learning or other AI related fields is preferred;
• At least 3 years of experience as researcher and/or engineer in the area of data analytics, machine learning, or equivalent field, in which at least 1 year experience of technical supervision in machine learning or related fields required.

Knowledge/Skills
• Solid knowledge at Linear Algebra, Probability and Information Theory, Statistics, Numerical Computation;
• Hands-on experiences/skills with advanced machine learning, deep learning, data mining, statistical inference, mathematical modeling, and mathematical optimization techniques and technologies;
• Skillful at one of programming/scripting languages in ML field: Python, C/C++, Java, R, etc…;
• Having practical skills/experiences in application of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Theano, Torch, DL4J, etc, is an advantage;
• Demonstrated systematic skills/experiences in research methodology;
• Excellent interpersonal & English communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Japanese language (N3 or higher) is an advantage.
