Overall Job Purpose:
To help deliver high quality, modern, social intranets on SharePoint and to continue to improve, maintain and support SCC’s suite of SharePoint Collaboration Portal products. The role will include translating business requirements around the core concepts of business process management, collaboration, business intelligence or enterprise content management into technical designs, and using those designs to develop user-focused products that provide value to the customer.

Description:
• Develop custom solutions on SharePoint 2013, 2016 or SharePoint Online platforms to meet customer requirements.
• Develop custom solutions on SharePoint Online to continually improve and develop SCC’s Collaboration Portal suite of products.
• Interpret functional specifications into technical tasks for development.
• Assist presales activities by providing high level time estimates against customer requirements.
• Assist with the resolution of bugs, issues and questions raised by customers.
• Work with customers’ in-house development or technical teams, where required, to upskill co-develop or handover development of solutions

Essential Requirements:

Education & Qualifications:
• University degree in Computer Sciences, or IT

Experience:
• 5+ years’ experience and to be recognized expert in MS SharePoint and Front-End development
• Working in an on/offshore environment is a plus
• Experience working in an agile environment, e.g. Scrum or Scrumban is a plus

Skills and Knowledge:
• Successful track record of delivering a number of enterprise level Office 365 and on-premise SharePoint 2013 solutions.
• In-depth knowledge and experience of the following technologies and techniques:
o JavaScript, including popular frameworks such as jQuery, Knockout and AngularJS
o CSS/LESS/SASS
o C#
o The most recent SharePoint development models (REST, CSOM, JSOM & SSOM)
o Branding and customisation of SharePoint, including responsive implementation.
o PowerShell, including the use of PowerShell + CSOM
o Experience with the Office Add-In model, as well as traditional SharePoint development methodologies.

• Familiarity with some or all of the following technologies is desirable:
o Open source technologies which support web development, such as npm and gulp.
o The Office UI Fabric framework
o TypeScript

• Good communication and presentation skills and experience of presenting to and liaising with customer contacts at all levels. Advanced in English
• Proven ownership of complex and challenging issues and successful resolution and delivery through team work.
• Attention to detail and a keen eye for consistency.
• Self-motivated. Able to manage own time and deliver to deadlines.
• Comfortable working alone and as part of a team.
• A relevant degree and Microsoft Certification (MCSD or MCSP) is desirable, but not essential.
