The QC Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that software development processes and methods are focused across all levels to ensure Quality is built in through the SDLC. The role focuses on the continual improvement of Quality Assurance and Control practices through the implementation of a “shift left” quality strategy.

The role has the oversight of processes, practices and people to ensure that:
• The alignment between product specifications, identification and proactive and continuous product risk identification and mitigation
• The QA strategy, processes and approach deliver the required product quality defined by an agreed set of customer quality KPI’s
• The Quality Assurance and Control team proactively interact with all development roles to innovate improvements to the Quality assurance and control activities to support and implement a “shift left” quality strategy

Apart from strong results and process orientation, your other strengths include your ability to work independently and within a team (especially cross-functional teams). You’ll possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written and you’re admired for your creative problem solving skills and ‘can do’ mentality.

Qualifications
Ideally a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in an IT-related field or relevant experience managing multiple geographically distributed teams and systems

Experience
• 5-10 years Quality Assurance, Test Management and Team Leadership
• 3 - 5 years of Testing experience across, unit/integration test facilitation, functional, performance, End to End, Regression testing applied within agile software development
• Experience on large System projects an advantage but not mandatory
• Experience working in Agile teams and applying a leading scaled Agile framework such as Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD), scaled Agile Framework (SAFs)
• Experience working with customers located in geographically different locations
• Experience working in the insurance industry, specifically worker’s compensation, is advantageous but not mandatory
• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
• Demonstrated ability to independently time manage, and deliver to deadlines
• Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Familiarity and experience working in multidisciplinary teams

Skills and Knowledge
• Experience working with applications that use Java, Oracle, Tomcat, Apache, Linux, xHTML, CSS, and other web technologies
• Experience with continuous integration and release management tools, especially Bamboo
• Experience with Defect management tools like JIRA
• Experience with Test Management Tools
• Ability to read and manage communication styles of team members and stakeholders who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
• Able to proactively initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with team members
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
