General Summary
The database developer/administrator will be responsible for the integrity and stability of the production and staging databases for data warehouse. This includes monitoring and maintenance the production and staging databases. You’ll also be responsible for building alerts, automating imports and processes to make day-to-day data warehouse operations easier.
Essential Job Functions
- Understand project business in order to write, maintain and optimize store procedures;
- Monitor database performance, including but not limited to: storage size, replication, cache-hit, running processes and blocking;
- Monthly data cleanup to maintain a clean baseline of the tables/functions/schemas;
- Monthly database administration, including reporting on database size, issues and improvements, and actively making DML changes to optimize processes and query performances;
- Build necessary alerts to help catching problems early, eg: job status, data integrity checks;
- Build automated process to help day-to-day operations.
- Conducts other duties assigned by PM or GM.

Your Skills and Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of experience and strong understanding in database development and administration;
- Advanced SQL knowledge and skills;
- Well versed in database performance tuning, especially Postgres tuning;
- Passionate about administrating large data sets;
- Detail-oriented, punctual, reliable, responsible and organized;
- Ability to work in a remote environment;
- Ability to handle multiple cross-departmental interactions;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member;
- Flexibility to handle the changing needs and environment of a fast moving company.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or relevant field.
