- Play a lead role in terms of technical development and architecture
- Manage performance and effectiveness of the team’s delivery of software applications
- Work with Product Managers to prioritise on existing and future needs
- Pro-actively identify and plug gaps in existing engineering processes/tools
- Be hands on when performing technical investigations, code reviews and around delivery deadlines
- Plan and document technical specifications for features or system design
- Mentor and lead other members of the department in development best practices
- Contribute towards improving engineering culture and approach

Your Skills and Experience
- At least 7 years professional experience in the software engineering industry
- Prior experience as a software engineer developing financial solution
- Able to communicate effectively in English with technical and non-technical individuals
- Experience working with Ruby on Rails
- Some understanding of functional programming (knowledge of Go, Scala or Erlang is a plus)
- Understanding or some experience with ReactJS (or equivalent)
- Familiarity with TDD and BDD concepts and how to use them to write code that is well tested
- Passion for Continuous Integration
- Passion for developing fast, reliable and robust APIs along with beautiful, usable user experience.
- Enjoy working in a startup and open environment where you can build and set things up from scratch
- Take pride and ownership in your work and have a sense of urgency
- Love to teach and learn from your co-workers
- Have a good sense of humour
