A Software Manager at Confluence is responsible for leading a team of 8 to 10 Software Engineers and Quality Engineers who work on all phases of software development including new feature development, software maintenance, and quality assurance. This position is responsible for the staffing, development, delivery, and ongoing continuous improvement of the software engineering team. The Software Manager takes a “hands-on” approach by participating in technical discussions, code reviews, test planning and other Scrum activities. As part of a global software product development organization, the Software Manager works with US leaders on cross-functional improvement initiatives.
What Will You Do?
- Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and facilitate the success of the Software and Quality team members.
- Create Employee Development Plans that support, encourage and evaluate personal growth.
- Maintain team morale via regular individual and team-wide communications.
- Perform all HR management activities for the team.
- Define, implement and improve software development processes and tools.
- Lead the team to meeting their commitments by removing roadblocks and providing hands-on assistance.
- Ensure the team is adhering to established quality practices and is proactively identifying quality concerns.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop strategies to improve technology and enhance the product.

Your Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 6+ years in a technical role such as Software Engineer or Quality Assurance.
- 3+ years in hands-on technical leadership and people management roles such as Software Manager, Project Manager or Technical Lead.
- 2+ years performing HR management activities like recruiting, annual performance reviews and employee career development activities.
- 2+ years working with multi-national teams developing high-quality software solutions.
- Significant experience developing software products using Microsoft .net, C# and Cloud technologies.
- Knowledge and Experience working within an Agile environment and collaborating with Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
- Solid understanding of Software and Quality Processes with demonstrated success establishing, enforcing and improving these processes.
