- Responsible for the planning and building of business logic and a solid data layer within the backend application structure.
- Design, implement and assist in deploying backend services in support of any front end code that has been implemented.
- Design and build performance Oracle procedures and data structures.
- Build Oracle compliant PL/SQL scripts for indexing and fine tuning large datasets
- Assist Oracle DBA’s in ensuring maximum performance can be achieved with various production level client data configuration sets.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure front and backend services work together (effective calls are made to the database etc.)
- Assist in building a first class build and development environment using SVN, GIT and Maven on our local Team City build server.
- Creation of documentation and provide technical support to help the operational support team with database queries and backend API calls.
- Work with the business owner(s) to develop backend code from required features.
- Defect management and proactive identification of risks to management and the project
- Work with the product owner and QA to reproduce backend production problems and help QA identify gaps in the regression test suite (both manual and automated)
- Actively contribute to designing, building and supporting first class scalable backend web services and relational database systems (Oracle)
- Generate an understanding and deep knowledge of our build and development and environments.
- Automated build management and deployment using Team City, Maven, knowledge of Jenkins, knowledge of Sun Solaris and ability to manage Sun Solaris Zones.

Your Skills and Experience
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Experienced in building and or working with enterprise level Java web-services using OO and a multi-tier architecture, specifically Business layer and Data layer.
- Must have worked and be experienced with the Spring MVC framework.
- Experience in building and or working with SOAP APIs
- Experienced with Oracle 10g/11g databases and PL/SQL.
- Must have experience of working with the Quartz job-scheduling library.
- Exposed working experience with Maven as build automation tool.
- Knowledge of agile software development practices
- Demonstrated ability to set and meet tight deadlines and function well under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective and enduring working relationships with stakeholders, project managers and other project participants and application owners
- Excellent communication, organization and documentation skills (English is a must).
- Ability to help others; work in a team where a culture of learning and sharing knowledge is encouraged.
