Our client is one of the International Universities in Ho Chi Minh City and are looking for a Lead Developer. As such you will be in charge of the ongoing development and maintenance of the Student Records System (SRS) and related student systems. The position will work directly with oversea clients in Australia (such as other Student Administration units) to capture system requirements, revise or implement new SRS modules, work on data integration projects, and collaborate with clients to test and fine-tune the software.
You will be working closely together with partners outside Vietnam and will join one of the SCRUM development cycles. Daily stand up video conferences can or will be part of the job.
The Lead Developer will design and implement efficient information systems and applications to support the needs of core organisational functions across the University, including
- Collaborate with the Manager, Applications and Development and key stakeholders on demand management, prioritisation, and backlog grooming processes.
- Provide oversight in the development and documentation of user stories, user requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead the design and architecture of new software solutions, integration systems, and changes to existing systems.
- Provide significant expertise in making technology choices such as programming languages, platforms, and frameworks.
- For key projects, develop software, database structures, and system integration modules.
- Protect the architecture and quality of the code, ensuring high levels of performance, security, usability, and extensibility, and quality in software deliverable.
- Assure and take responsibility for the code quality of the team. Lead the further development of testing processes and procedures.
- Conduct Scrum meetings, and provide mentorship and guidance to other members of the development team.
- Provide input in the management of applications and make recommendations for quality improvement.
Yêu cầu công việc
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least 7 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a software architect or lead developer role, with a track record of designing and implementing high quality software.
- Experience in working with stakeholders, managing demand, and prioritising work requests.
- Demonstrated experience in all phases of software development including requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Experience with a broad range of programming languages. Experience with PHP is required (experience with the Symphony framework is desirable.) Experience with desktop application development is desirable.
- Experience with relational database development and data integration and synchronization projects. Experience developing applications in Java (ESB) is desirable.
- Experience in working with the Scrum or Kanban framework. Prior training in Agile methodologies is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, and contribute to and take responsibility for the team’s collective outcomes.
- Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, in a high pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position, as per the RMIT Behavioural Capability Framework (Connectedness, Commitment to Excellence – Improve and Simplify; Imagination and Innovation; Impact; Inclusion; Agility).
English Proficiency
English is the language of teaching and communication at Client Campuses. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS with a score of at least 6.5 (or equivalent as outlined in the Recruitment and Selection Guidelines).
