The Position

Reporting to the VP of IT, the Director of DevOps plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of OPSWAT. You will perform hands-on tasks for the company including new VM and server installations, backend infrastructure support, Corporate IT support, troubleshooting and assisting other CloudOps/DevOps personnel with projects where required. This role combines Director level management with technical hands-on responsibilities. Applicants for this position will be asked to work in the local office 5 days a week Monday thru Friday from 8AM to 5PM and be available for management on-call when needed or scheduled.

We are looking for someone who will Lead a global team of DevOps engineers in a highly agile DevOps environment, focused on efficient operation of daily activities, developer productivity and continuous improvement. for monitoring, automation and tools development.  This position would be ideal for someone who loves working with various environments, develops strategies, has strong management and technical skills, and is looking for an opportunity to build and drive an exciting DevOps team.

What You Will Be Doing

• Establish DevOps strategies for execution and growth, with a vision towards data, application, and IT teams.
• Work with engineering team by driving the development of a collaborative DevOps strategy for how to manage our System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process using continuous build and integration best practices and standards.
• Work closely with the engineering and product leadership to architect solid technical design and approach to operations.
• Oversee and contribute to a world class continuous delivery practice for our entire software and data pipeline development including publishing, deployment lifecycle process.
• Be the decision maker for platform operational issues and continuous improvement, providing expert-level assistance to engineers and support teams.
• Planning and design for growth and to meet current and future traffic/expansion with scalable solutions
• Decisions based on analytics and logs, performance tuning for health monitoring of environment.
• Strategies and operations for various tech stacks involving IT/data center operations, colocation, infrastructure and cloud technologies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, and Azure.
• Work with and provide some Corporate IT Support for all offices as needed.
• Effectively manage large and complex programs involving multiple business and technology teams across the organization
• Strong communication and relationship management skills to regularly interact with business partners and senior leadership. Communicate strategic technology plans to business partners ensuring collaboration across technology and the business.

• Work closely with Information Security team to implement security policies and guidelines
• Occasional travel to various equipment locations throughout the US.
