Overview of job
Pexraytech Positioning Solutions team develops high precision positioning modules for various positioning and mobility applications. The modules utilize various positioning and motion detection technologies in state-of-art sensor fusion to provide stable, reliable and precise positioning solution under all conditions.
The positioning modules are embedded systems with two operating systems (an embedded Linux and a real-time operating system). The real-time operating system takes care of the sensor fusion whereas the embedded Linux focuses in heavy computing, data transfers, user interfaces and custom applications. Furthermore, the embedded Linux will interact with various external devices and interfaces such as smartphones and computers.
In the beginning of the project you will be in charge of developing the Embedded Linux part of the system. This includes customization of the Linux distribution, driver integration and development of the Linux back-end software as well. In addition you will lead the Front-end development including web-based Linux front-end and Mobile front-end.
Later the team will be reinforced with additional Linux Back-End and Cloud Back-End Developers. While the team size increases, your responsibilities as a developer decreases and the role of team lead will be emphasized.
In this role you will work closely with another team working in Finland. The Finnish team will focus in the MCU software, HW platform and sensor fusion development. Therefore, your work will include occasional visits to Finland.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
- Define the backend SW architecture based on system and requirements
- Define interfaces for fron-tend and embedded part of the system
- Define SW requirements based on system requirements together with the team
- Implement the backend SW
- Testing of the system where applicable

Job Requirement
Your Skills and Experience
For this position we require:
- More than 5 years of experience with embedded Linux
- Over two years of Yocto experience
- Involvement with several embedded Linux projects developed from scratch
- Knowledge of NXP iMX7 processors (ARM Cortex-A7 and Cortex-M4)
- Excellent C/C++ programming skills
- Proficiency with Linux device tree and device drivers
- Experience of different databases (e.g. μSGL or SQLite)
- Good skills in English (written and spoken)
- Excellent team working and team leading skills
- Possibility to travel to Finland
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems on MCUs (e.g. FreeRTOS)
- Competence with several interfaces (Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wifi, RS232, CAN etc.)
- Knowledge of Cloud back-ends (e.g. Azure)
- Experience with vehicle industry (ECU, Autosar etc.)
