SmartPesa is a specialist payments technology provider that aims to solve the last mile problem for financial institutions in markets.
We are looking for a Software Engineer to help us apply best practices and build functional systems that bring our business to new heights. Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyze current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
- Executing full lifecycle software development
- Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code
- Producing specifications and determine operational feasibility
- Document and maintain software functionality
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
- Manage code deployments, fixes, updates and related processes.
- Stay current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve.
- Test our system integrity, implement designs, application developments and other processes related to infrastructure, making improvements as needed.
- Specifying, documenting and developing new product features, and writing automating scripts.

Job Requirement
Your Skills and Experience
- Proven work experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
- Strong experience in C#, .NET, Java, Message Bus, Micro-Services, PHP.
- Working knowledge of REST API, AWS, RDBMS, SQL, CI/CD, Docker Container.
- Familiarity with consumer privacy and payments industry compliance requirements
- Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measure
- Problem-solving attitude
- Bachelor in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
- Fluent English, have good command of written English
