Our project is Europe's largest campervan expert for rental & sales and everything to do with camping with the van. We are a dynamic, open-minded and motivated group with great team spirit! For our project, we are looking for an ambitious developer who would like to accompany us on our journey!
Our Booking and fleet management software is the core of our business. Besides the customer-oriented booking interface, which is the most important touchpoint for our happy customers, it also supports internal processes and acts as an interface for all the different departments. .
The Job:
- We are seeking a Head of Technology with solid know-how of one of the modern technologies. You will be responsible for driving technology strategy, building out the technology team of one of our main competencies (PHP, NodeJS, Javascript, Cloud Computing) and delivering on the shared growth vision. Deep understanding of Tech and Hands-On Attitude are a must (yes, sometimes you will need to jump in and show the boys how to code…)
- You'll be working with cutting edge frameworks, automation, and use the latest technologies for error tracking, reporting, and testing, with a high level of test coverage to maintain high-quality products that our clients use to run their entire business. We take pride in clean code built for our highly scalable systems. We work in small teams for clients from all around the world, follow agile work methods, and use continuous integration and delivery methodologies to move fast without sacrificing quality.
- Your task is to help firefight problems in the various teams as well as educate the teams to avoid them at all.
- Manage the development of internal systems, understanding the business needs, gathering requirements and maintaining a product backlog/roadmap
- Meeting potential clients, discussing Tech and Software Strategy are an important part of your role as well as sometimes travel all around the world to help ease friction and solve technical problems.

Job Requirement
Your Skills and Experience
You are:
- Substantial and broad management experience in web development including experience in a senior technical role and in leading and organizing technical / applications development/operations teams
- An engineering manager, with solid knowledge in one of our main competencies (PHP/NodeJS/Javascript/Cloud Computing) looking for a dynamic role at a fast-growing, incredibly cool and very different outsourcing startup
- A veteran, having experience in working on products at all stages of life cycle
- A technical approach to problem-solving, with the demonstrable ability to provide solutions for technical challenges no one has faced before;
- A leader, a mentor, a true core member of any team.
Key responsibilities and challenges for this executive position include:
- Provide technical support for project proposals: technical architecture, organization and process, planning, help with estimation.
- Lead, manage & scale large agile teams (30+ members)
- Meeting with clients from all around the planet to define and evaluate strategy and tech requirements
- Overview of each project’s life cycle, with an emphasis on technical soundness and resource efficiency.
- Assist the project teams in urgent cases, fixing the root-cause and come up with strategies to resolve the issues. Hands-On coding required in these cases.
- Encourage development standards across all development teams.
- Give talks on conferences all around the planet; Feel comfortable with this; Speaking experience is a big plus.
Requirement:
- Perfect English communication skills, verbal and written.
- Minimum 10 years of experience. You will be expected to have practical, hands-on experience in developing and delivering several large scales, relevant projects.
- Good Business Mindset. Understand the requirements of international clients
- Deep knowledge in one of modern technologies like PHP, Java, RoR, Python, Javascript (NodeJS, React/VueJs), Elasticsearch, MySQL as well as a deep understanding of DevOps Infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud).
- Develop spike solutions for difficult technical challenges like Microservices, Serverless (e.g. AWS Lambda), Massive Scaling, etc.
- You will be a strong advocate for maximizing automation in CI/CD, testing, quality processes and infrastructure
- Knowledge of Machine Learning, Blockchain is a plus.
- Booking system platform experience is a plus.
- Strong research skills, adapt quickly with new technologies.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, presentation skill, ability to think creatively and strategically.
