Digital Evidence Management Systems are key to officer efficiency and Axon’s mobile applications, View and Capture, play critical roles in evidence acquisition. Axon View interacts with body-worn cameras to display live camera streams, or to view and tag previously-collected evidence. Axon Capture collects digital evidence (photos, videos, audio) and uploads that evidence to evidence.com for later processing.

In this role, you’ll build and grow a small team. You’ll act both as the engineering manager and as the technical lead for all projects your team owns. You and your team will deliver a Windows client app, and features in or relating to the Axon View and Axon Capture iOS applications. You’ll coordinate with teammates in the Seattle office to define your team’s deliverables and timelines. You’ll coordinate testing for our applications with a partner team in the Ho Chi Minh office.

You are a strong technical lead. You’ve created client applications for years. You know the platform inside and out and you remember how it has changed over the years. You’re familiar with key technologies important to our applications (Networking, Bluetooth, WiFi, Photo, Video), and you can guide a team in creating secure applications.

You drive engineering efforts to completion. You evaluate, plan, estimate, communicate and collaborate. You ramp up quickly, solve problems and resolve ambiguity. You are ready to candidly and respectfully share your wisdom and knowledge for the betterment of our team, our code and our product.

Your Day-to-Day

• Lead a team through the design, implementation and maintenance of features within Windows and mobile client applications, and related shared libraries.
• Coach and mentor your team to help them grow in their craft.
• Act as technical lead. Ensure technical constraints are understood. Guide the technical design process, trusting your team’s expertise to inform technical designs.
• Aspire to be “in the code”, but know that your strongest contributions will be as a force multiplier for your team, ensuring your team is aligned and effective.
• Lead a team through Scrum ceremonies.
• Collaborate with the Scrum team to ensure sprint goals are delivered.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure we build and ship the “right” thing.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors in Computer Science
• 5+ years shipping high-quality Windows client applications using C#
• Experience leading a team delivering Windows desktop client applications
• Strong track record of leading a team to deliver solid code on a schedule
• A strong desire to learn and grow your technical and technical leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C# client development, XAML, WPF, UWP, Fluent, NuGet, UWP, WACK, Windows 10 Store integration
• Experience leading a team delivering iOS mobile client applications
• Experience leading native iOS mobile application development
• Direct experience coding behavior related to: Bluetooth, WiFi, Networking, Camera (Photo/Video), Audio, File Management, UI, connecting to and interacting with third party hardware
• CI/CD: experience creating and managing automation and integration
