Overview of job

Pizza Hut Digital Ventures is looking for a passionate, driven, digital native to be a key part of driving growth on our digital platforms (Web, apps, and whatever the future may bring) through innovation and product optimization. 

You will be joining us as a Head of Engineering to lead our Ho Chi Minh City development team who are focused on launching our ecommerce platform in new markets across the Pizza Hut International business. We are looking for a strong delivery focused engineering leader with excellent people management skills, technical skills, technology vision, and the ability to lead teams through technology challenges while driving the teams towards target architecture. 

Responsibilities 

Strategic:

  • Contribute towards the development of the global technical strategy. Once the strategy has been approved, help execute and implement it within the HCM center, along with supporting peers in other development centers.
  • Work with Executive Management to grow the company through the use of modern technologies.
  • Work with the wider global technology team and leadership to design and map a long term architecture for newer systems and capabilities. 
  • Work with peers and the CTO to ensure consistent design patterns are implemented across all systems. Plan, develop and deliver large-scale, complex, cross-functional features.
  • Work closely with product leadership to prioritize initiatives to deliver the greatest value to business
  • Help identify and mitigate risk (technical, product, personnel)

Technical:

  • Oversee all development aspects of the company’s global e-commerce platform.
  • Be accountable for all aspects of development happening from the HCM center. 
  • Be accountable for the quality of delivery from the HCM team as a whole. 
  • Ensure best practices in software development, DevSecOps are being followed and up to date. 
  • Ensure existing systems are operating optimally. Prioritise and manage maintenance of core services while ensuring that optimal SLAs are met. 
  • Effectively handle multiple initiatives and be accountable for delivering multiple releases on schedule with highest quality standards
  • Support continuous process improvement and innovation
  • Work collaboratively with globally located teams and suppliers towards the best possible solution for a given problem. 

People:

  • Using an active and practical approach, direct all employees in development to attain the company’s strategic goals established in the company’s strategic plan.
  • Line manage Senior Engineering Managers and provide overarching people management for the rest of the team.
  • Coach and mentor first-level managers, tech leads and software engineers through their career growth.
  • Build an open, positive and energized culture, which is in sync with the wider company culture, but also preserve the nuances of the HCM culture.
  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Job Requirement

  • BS in related field and at least 7 years’ experience in IT management with 4 years in Head of Development 
  • Experience in design and maintenance of a huge traffic web/mobile application (millions users)
  • Experience in e-commerce industry  
  • Experience with e-transactional systems  
  • Ability to design and operate products based on cloud services, preferably AWS. 
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment 
  • Ability to architect Micro-services
  • A good understanding of best practices in DevOps. Preferably, experience in a development team with modern DevOps practices. 
  • Demonstrate a good understanding and appreciation of software and infrastructure security. 
  • Ability to leverage AI and Machine Learning is advantage     
  • Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff.   
  • Experience to lead and manage a technical team size over 50    
  • Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong writing and presentation skills in English.
