About Monterro 

Monterro is a Stockholm-based private equity firm specializing exclusively in Nordic B2B software companies. We manage EUR 1.1bn across four funds and are building a dedicated AI team to accelerate AI adoption and value creation across our 23+ portfolio companies. 

Role Overview 

We’re seeking an AI Tooling and Development Expert to join our Vietnam-based AI engineering team. You’ll be at the forefront of AI-driven development, working directly with Nordic B2B software companies to implement cutting-edge AI tools and frameworks that make their development teams more efficient and productive. 

This role combines hands-on technical expertise with rapid evaluation and implementation of AI development tools. You’ll work in short, high-impact engagements (typically measured in days rather than weeks) while continuously evaluating new tools and frameworks to keep our portfolio companies ahead of the curve. 

Key Responsibilities 

AI Development Tooling 

• Hands-on evaluation and implementation of AI-powered development tools across our portfolio companies 
• Help portfolio company development teams integrate AI tools into their existing workflows 
• Create practical implementations that demonstrate immediate productivity gains 

Portfolio Company Engagement 

• Work directly with 2-3 portfolio companies simultaneously on short-term AI tooling implementations 
• Quickly understand diverse technical stacks and business contexts across different B2B software companies 
• Provide hands-on support to get development teams started with AI-driven development practices 
• Document and share learnings across the portfolio for maximum impact 

Tool Evaluation and Best Practices 

• Continuously evaluate emerging AI development tools, frameworks, and platforms. Also stay on top of the best way to work with them. 
• Maintain expertise across all major AI development platforms (OpenAI API, Anthropic, local LLMs, etc.) 
• Create proof-of-concepts and demos that showcase new capabilities and ways of working with them. 
• Stay ahead of industry trends so portfolio companies don’t have to invest time in evaluation 

Knowledge Sharing 

• Create practical guides and playbooks for AI tool adoption 
• Contribute to Monterro’s AI knowledge base and best practices 
• Share insights across portfolio companies to accelerate collective learning

Technical Experience 

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience 
• Wide variety of frameworks and languages - we need true generalists who can adapt quickly 
• Current hands-on experience with all major AI development platforms and tools: 

1. OpenAI API and GPT models 
2. Anthropic Claude API 
3. Local LLM deployment and usage 
4. AI-powered IDEs and coding assistants 
5. Agents, MCP, etc. 

• Strong understanding of modern development practices, DevOps, and automation 

AI Enthusiasm & Expertise 

• Genuine enthusiasm for AI in general and AI-driven development specifically 
• Passion for tooling and improving developer ways of working 
• Experience implementing AI tools that measurably improve development productivity 
• Understanding of how AI can transform software development workflows 

Communication & Collaboration 

• Excellent English (both spoken and written) - you’ll work directly with Nordic teams 
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences 
• Ability to quickly build relationships and trust with portfolio company teams 
• Experience working in consulting or advisory capacities preferred 

Work Style & Mindset 

• Timezone flexibility - ability to align working hours with Nordic business hours (CET/CEST) 
• Comfortable with rapid context switching between different companies and technical stacks 
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver value quickly (days, not weeks)
