We consistently need to put the "Shift-Left" mindset into practice through DevSecOps. This is essential for:

• Enhancing reliability
• Preventing rework
• Reducing costs

To achieve these goals, we expect you to leverage your experience and skills as a DevSecOps or  Site Reliability Engineer, and to drive the "Shift-Left" approach with full commitment.

The following are the detailed responsibilities for this role:

Reliability & Observability

• Define and improve SLIs/SLOs across our SaaS and internal projects.
• Enhance monitoring, alerting, and incident response to build trust in our services.

Pragmatic Cloud & Cost Optimization

• Review and optimize usage of Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Big Query, Pub/Sub, and other managed services.
• Continuously reduce waste and improve cost-efficiency without sacrificing performance.

Architecture Partner

• Collaborate with project leaders during design phases to provide practical DevSecOps/SRE input.
• Guide teams toward cloud-native, containerized, and serverless best practices (without over-complicating).

Tooling & Automation

• Build and maintain shared tools for CI/CD, security scanning, and reporting.
• Enable self-service infrastructure for developers across 15+ projects.

Knowledge Sharing

• Mentor and support teams with modern cloud practices.
• Document patterns and run lightweight workshops to raise the engineering bar.

- 3+ years of experience in web/software engineering - able to understand application code, not just infra, have experience in scripting languages such as JavaScript, PHP.

- 3+ years of hands-on experience operating production workloads on GCP (preferred) or AWS.

- Strong understanding of containerized applications (Docker, Cloud Run, Kubernetes optional but a plus).

- Proven track record in: CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/observability, and reliability practices.

- Pragmatic mindset — you value simple, effective patterns over complex, “perfect” solutions.

- Passion for learning and knowledge sharing.

- Communication:

• We need you to have confidence in communicating in English - at the very least, being able to write and clearly express your opinions.
• Having Japanese language ability is very welcome and would be a significant advantage.
