Our Engineering Department plans, builds and maintains the technology that drives high traffic ecommerce platforms. Our ability to deliver fast, safe and scalable solutions is critical in delivering first-class experiences to our customers. Our teams are organised by business domain and take ownership of everything they do in a you built it, you own it, model.

The Datajet team is working on a search recommendation engine that is used by GFG’s regions and we are looking to roll it out to the 17 countries where we operate. As part of the team in this role as Senior Golang Engineer, you will support this goal by ensuring a relevant catalog of millions of products is available to over 50 million users across 12 countries. 

Our platform delivers the core product to power search and recommendations to our brands in growth markets, and our team's goal is to make every product in our extensive assortment discoverable.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

• You will be responsible for helping our regions to find the best match between their customer needs and products.
• You will build and maintain scalable Golang-centric applications by contributing to our codebase on a daily basis.
• You will cover code by tests.
• You will be responsible for building large concurrent applications.
• You will be able to diagnose problems at any level (Client, HTTP/Network, Server, Database, OS).
