Overview of job

Identifies the goals of each project and presents multiple realistic solutions. Calls out the pros and cons of each option

Takes feature specifications and creates clear and detailed wireframes for cross-team reviews

Groom backlog of design priorities and communicate prioritization appropriately.

  • Collaborates with product manager and engineers to come up with design solutions
  • Works through all user flows, solving edge cases and interactivity challenges
  • Mocks up screens and views, and responds and adjusts per team feedback
  • Work with our Design team to create a design system / UI component library and plan that supports both legacy and new product designs moving forward.
  • Works with Engineering to implement UI assets, screens
  • Playtests often to ensure quality work
  • Constantly strives for pixel perfect implementation and consistent visual quality
  • Creates clean and intuitive UX designs and promotes constant improvement of our UI/UX systems and shared functions
  • Drive UX assessment from a product design perspective.
  • Shares knowledge and experience with other members of the team by providing constructive and actionable feedback to ensure product consistency and quality
  • Support scale by making design-led decisions to shape the short and long term visions for our product UX in addition to design feature requests, UI, or design system components

Job Requirement

Technical skill requirements:

  • Excellent in Adobe Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop/Photography/Adobe Lightroom is a plus 
  • Experience with video editing is a big plus (Adobe Premiere/After Effects/Media Encoder, Final Cut Pro, ...)
  • Experience with motion graphics is a plus (Adobe After Effects/Flash)
  • Quick and Iterative Paper Wire-framing
  • Flowcharts with any tool of choice (Vision, Draw.io, OverFlow, Pen/Paper etc.)
  • Hands-On UI design experience (Sketch is preferred over Adobe XD, Figma)
  • Hands-On experience with Zeplin or similar for red-lining and front-end execution
  • Fluent in Hands-On Prototyping experience (Any of Principle, Marvel, Invision, Framer, Origami, Proto.io etc.)
  • Basic Excel/Google Sheets experience for working with data/numbers
  • Basic understanding of Engineering terminology (Client - Server interactions like APIs, Response times etc.)
  • Basic understanding of Product terminology (DAUs, Engagement, Retentions etc.)
  • Familiar with any Analytics Dashboard and Experimentation solution (CleverTap, LeanPlum, Google Analytics, Firebase, MixPanel etc.)

Educational, Professional & Working-style-fit requirements

  • Strong educational background in the field of communication design, graphic design, or similar OR highly skilled autodidact with a strong portfolio and proven track record.
  • Clear understanding of customer centric UX approach and experience working through it from the beginning to end. 
  • Ability to work within constraints and tight deadlines to transform complex requirements into simple solutions that meet business and consumer needs
  • Proactive and not afraid to drive towards finding simple, elegant solutions for complex design problems by working cross-functionally.
  • 3+ years of experience in working with consumer centric Mobile Apps, preferring to apps with 50k+ daily users
  • Ability to produce clear UX documentation including benchmarking, flow diagrams, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interactions, implementation details, and user goals.
  • Ability to design experiments to test a hypothesis/approach
  • Ability to iterate rapidly as ideas emerge and priorities change to meet the needs 
  • Are Comfortable with learning from experimentation on live user base rather than extensive user studies and research
  • Are Comfortable with killing features that do not translate into desired impact
  • Open to learning new tools/techniques towards improving workflow and understanding of current user base
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
