Overview of job

ANZ Bank is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure on GCP and AWS. You will play a crucial role in developing, automating, and fine tuning data platform provisioning, scaling, and maintenance tasks to enhance operational efficiency, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Additionally, you will build automations and frameworks to streamline deployment, scaling, and data analytics activities, ensuring high-quality content deliverables using appropriate document templates.

Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure on GCP and AWS
Develop, automate, and optimize data platform provisioning, scaling, and maintenance tasks
Ensure security is a top priority throughout all aspects of infrastructure and data platform activities
Build automations and frameworks to streamline deployment, scaling, and data analytics activities
Provide high-quality content deliverables using appropriate document templates
Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continually improve our Platform & Infrastructure
Utilize containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
Implement CI/CD pipelines and adhere to DevOps principles
Utilize Python and other common programming languages for automation tasks
Work with APIs and scripting/frameworks for efficient operations
Implement and utilize monitoring and logging tools effectively
Work with a range of operating systems to ensure compatibility and efficiency
Manage network configurations, ensuring reliability, security, and performance
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, applications, and networking

A. ENGINEER LEVEL

Proficiency in programming/scripting languages like Java, Python, SQL, Bash.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or similar
Strong understanding of DevOps Practices, CI/CD processes, container orchestration
Experience in Cloud platforms, preferably GCP.

*** Fundamentals:

From 4 years of experience
Possess fundamentals in Linux operating systems
Understand Git source control fundamentals, branching, and release strategies
Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD practices and standards
Knowledge of data pipelines ETL/ELT fundamentals
Proficiency in SQL fundamentals
Good command of English verbal communication

*** Tech Skills:

Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IAC) implementation
Proficiency in Python and Golang programming languages
Strong skills in Shell/Bash scripting
Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes (GKE & OpenShift)
Knowledge of Istio Service Mesh and routing
Proficiency in SQL
DBT (Data Transformation Tool) for data processing
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices including static analysis, composition analysis, vulnerability scanning, and secret management
Understanding of CI/CD principles

Helm or Kustomize for Kubernetes management

*** Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering field
Certification in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) would be highly advantageous

*** Good-to-have requirements:

Frontend skills such as JavaScript, Node.js, and React
Azure AD knowledge
Experience with Ansible for configuration management and automations

B. ARCHITECT LEVEL: ALL THE ABOVE +

From 8 years of experience
Strong experience in cloud architecture especially GCP
Experience designing resilient, and scalable frameworks to address the business needs Collaborate with stakeholders to translate the business requirement into solutions
Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between cross functional teams
