This role is responsible for managing the daily operations of Hansen’s Vietnam region. Key to the role is taking responsibility for the success and profitability of the region by fostering a productive environment with an Agile approach, delivering software on time and within budget, positively effecting people’s productivity/performance and actively managing the P&L through astute commercial decision making and strategic thinking.

Duties and Responsibilities

Department Leadership

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an operational strategy for the region to support and drive the business to reach its financial objectives
  • Maintain current knowledge of the company’s strategic objectives and product roadmap, translating these objectives into people relevant contexts ensuring that all staff understand and are passionate about delivering the vision
  • Ensure strong engagement with the Hansen brand and global strategy through frequent, relevant communication, and collaborative decision making/coaching
  • Continuously evaluate current business processes and systems with a view to establishing and maintaining good commercial/business disciplines and optimized efficiency
  • Working collaboratively with sales nurturing the sales pipeline with pre-sales support to ensure new delivery opportunities
  • Provide support to sales through the review of bid estimates and subject matter expertise
  • Work with HR to ensure there is a pipeline of talented, skilled professionals just in time to deliver on new projects

Budget/P&L Management

  • Work collaboratively with Finance partners to prepare the annual forecast and budget
  • Ensure that the profitability of the business unit is maintained and grows through a strategic decision making
  • Take a strategic view – making people, R&D and general operational decisions which are beneficial to the business in the long-term (future-proof and fostering growth)
  • Review performance data (financial, sales, marketing, development progress, service desk calls, and resource utilization) to monitor and measure productivity
  • Engage with sales and pre-sales to ensure that all opportunities are followed-up and exploited to maximize profit

Technical Delivery

  • Maintain product relevant knowledge of software development languages and latest methodologies for development, delivery, and services.
  • Maintain up-to-date  knowledge of the utility market and competitor offerings
  • Communicate regularly with the Product team to ensure market appropriate releases are delivered and opportunities to innovate are identified to enhance sales/growth opportunities
  • Maintain knowledge of, and contribute to operational  delivery and support systems and procedures as required by the product
  • Implement systems to minimize the risk of late delivery

 People Development, Performance, and Recognition

  • Workforce management - growing the team and implementing new structures and processes to support the business
  • Ensure employee benefits, leave and employee well-being are well managed  
  • Ensure that all people in the department have an up-to-date and relevant PDP (Personal Development Plan) to supply core, critical and strategic skills to deliver the product roadmap
  • Identify people requirements/skill gaps in the team and recruit and train (internally & externally) in collaboration with HR
  • Define and monitor KPI’s for teams and individuals to provide opportunities for reward and positive reinforcement
  • Ensure that managers are effectively reviewing people performance in line with company policy, using the company provided tools to coach good performers and identify and intervene in poor performance/lack of company values promotion
  • Ensuring that appropriate mechanisms are in-place and exercised to reward contributions of staff and maintain commitment and engagement 

Reporting

  • Provide executive and operational reports
  • Ensure that the analytics team have access to required information to produce business as usual reports (weekly and monthly)
  • Validate information provided in reports to confirm accuracy prior to executive presentation
  • Provide commentary relevant to identified trends and business strategy to inform future direction and promote a culture of transparency

Yêu cầu công việc

Your Skills and Experience

  • Degree Level Education (or equivalent experience) in information technology, software engineering, computer science, communications engineering, product development, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Min of 5 years experience in a similar sized company (+100 people) as a operations manager or similar level role
  • Effective leadership demonstrated through collaboration and influencing both internally (within own and wider Hansen team) and externally (suppliers, customers and potential customers)
  • Proven experience in business management and leadership principles and practices
  • Strategic orientation to identify and support the evolving priorities for a business
  • Experience in identifying opportunities for operational process improvement
  • Change ready with an Agile mindset
  • Proactive approach, able to facilitate effective delivery/outcomes from own and others effort
