Position Summary
The position is responsible for daily operation of the IT infrastructure at RMIT University Vietnam. This position is focused on maintaining windows operations and will work collaboratively with a team of Systems Administrators (contractors and in-house) covering Windows, Linux, Network, Mail and Active Directory Services, Applications and other specialised appliances.
Key Accountabilities
- Provides high level support and maintains the availability/performance of the data network and telephony system for all campuses of RMIT Vietnam.
- Develops and maintains accurate documentation for system manuals, procedures and policies, including disaster recovery plan, for the networking service infrastructure and hosted services on virtualization/ Windows and Unix/ Linux platform as required by the IT Infrastructure Manager.
- Prioritizes and responds in a timely manner to support tickets raised by Helpdesk or network monitoring system that relate to network/ telephony / video conferencing infrastructure. Provides support for all problems and coordinates with other team or vendors to fix escalated issues.
- Provides regular reports and as required relate to all network and telephony system activities, performance and security. Planning and performing security updates / patching for all critical network devices as per RMIT policies.
- Participates in projects identified by the IT Infrastructure Manager to support the information technology objectives of RMIT Vietnam. Researches, develops and implements new systems and technologies that fit to and/or benefit RMIT Vietnam business.
- Prepares training material and delivers support training to Customer Services team for systems managed by the group when required;
- Managing crossed platforms network services like DHCP, RADIUS, TACACS, SNMP... et; Researches, develops and implements new software/hardware according to design and plan by local/ global IT Architect team.
- Ready to work overtime onsite and take on-call 24/7 shift whenever there is demand.

Your Skills and Experience
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least 2 years experiences in system administrator position or equivalent;
- Demonstrated experience in exercising IT services delivery like incident management, problem management and change management in a wide range of systems; large corporate IT environment experiences.
- Demonstrated experience in deploying and managing large corporate network with more than 500 workstations and multi sites / locations; experience in managing VoIP system and related systems for monitoring and billing.
- Demonstrated experience in deploying and managing wireless, WAN and VPN services for site-to-site and remote access for users.
- Able to interact with business and technology stakeholders to achieve a desired outcome.
- Demonstrated good communication skills in English and Vietnamese, written and spoken.
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS General with a score of at least 6.0 or BULATS 65 (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).
For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.
