What kind of fun will you get up to at GoBear?
- You’ll architect and validate cloud-based solutions to deliver web applications at scale
- You’ll define and drive comprehensive test-first processes within the software development teams
- You’ll conduct research and build proof-of-concept prototypes to validate ideas
- You’ll take ownership of key cross-functional initiatives involving DevOps, Software Development, Design and QA
- You’ll act as a technical consultant to internal business units
- You’ll seamlessly lead R&D efforts to explore new technology that allows GoBear to maintain its competitive edge
- You’ll expertly conduct technical audits (Infrastructure, Performance, Security, Scalability etc.)
- You’ll provide technical leadership in implementing scalable solutions

Who’s who in the zoo?

Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you’ll work with some fabulous people spread across the business and technology teams, based in 7 countries. Your primary responsible will be to drive our polyglot architecture platform technology roadmap and design the system to meet our strategic long term goals.

This dynamic start-up requires an assertive, no nonsense and hands-on Platform Architect with most of (preferably all!) the following skills and qualifications:
- You must be familiar with our tech stack includes: .NET (C#), Java, VueJS, Drupal 8, Couchbase NoSQL, MS SQL Server, NodeJS, NginX, Varnish, Python and GoLang. Our platform is hosted on MS Azure, Google Cloud Platform and leverages Cloudflare.
- You have above par communication and interpersonal skills
- You have par excellence command of English (written and oral)
- You bring in in-depth knowledge of modern architectural principles
- You bring in expertise in the various software development methodologies and the trade-offs of employing one vs. another
- You bring in experience in employing architectural design patterns at the enterprise level
- You are familiar with Atomic Design Principles
- You have a good understanding of Object-Oriented programming fundamentals, and how to apply
- You have eCommerce domain knowledge and experience
- You earned a Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems or another related field
- You bring in at least 10 years of software development experience, 4 of which has to be in a Tech Lead or Architect role
