About the role:

- Lead a high-visibility team that builds new operational processes and Automation tools - both internally and with cross-functional partners to action against and scale Retail team's strategic priorities
- Design products and tooling for Retail team's end-to-end business processes
- Use creativity to identify new data sets and automation opportunities, and use existing data sets in new ways, to answer emerging business questions
- Work with key partners in product management, engineering, and cross-functional teams to manage the project deliverables
- Facilitate cross-functional development on new technology from design through delivery
- Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and change control
- Responsible for driving a wide range of development & infrastructure work-streams as part of any given technical initiative. Able to work closely with Engineering leaders and understand technical topics
- Provide visibility and metrics of the current state of merchandising activities
- Engage in critical feature requests to help address our customers’ needs with existing capabilities and/or future features in the roadmap
- Effectively communicate critical issue status to all partners, customers, and teammates
- Identify systemic and pervasive issues related to processes and drive actions to prevent a future problem

- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Math, Economics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
- 8+ years' experience in ecommerce or a relevant professional field (management consulting or other professional services a plus)
- Technical background or technical orientation (experience with SQL; Python or other programming language a strong plus)
- Proven track record in taking ownership to deliver results within a fast-paced environment
- Willing to dive deep to obtain a strong understanding of business strategy and financial goals
- Effective verbal and written communicator able to operate clearly in an ambiguous environment
