An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our Expert Services department as a hands-on Developer Team Lead, leading a team of highly skilled developers and delivering complex system development projects across a variety of products and technologies.

As an experienced Developer Team Lead, whilst being highly technical and hands-on capable, you will lead development projects across predominantly Microsoft .NET and SQL Server based technologies. Managing the successful delivery of projects will require you to plan, coordinate and lead activities across the full delivery lifecycle. This will include working closely with project managers, coordinating business analysts, architects and developers, as well as liaising with key project stakeholders as required.

Working closely with other team leaders you will ensure the structured and coordinated planning of your team’s development. Your technical background and experience will ensure you can offer the support and guidance required being able to support and assist developers at code level. This role offers challenges across a wide variety of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the department and systems used across the business.

To apply for this role, in addition to having a proven management background you must also have proven technical capability and a track record in software development combined with experience in the leadership of software development teams and delivery of projects within a software development environment.

• Set clear team goals (personal development plans)
• Do project planning, estimation, scheduling following Agile development methodologies
• Supervise, oversee day-to-day operation and support in design solutions for the team, and communicate that to all stakeholders (client, team members, higher management)
• Monitor team performance and report on metrics
• Motivate team members
• Discover training needs and provide coaching
• Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
• Recognize high performance accomplishments
• Encourage creativity
• Suggest and organize team building activities
• Time management of team
• Reporting above status and progress to line manager
• Create, plan, manage and assign tasks to members effectively for best collaboration and productivity
• Track progress and quality of team member's work, support when needed, ensure quality standards and practices are followed
• Identify, assess, track and resolve risks, issues and conflicts arisen in the project with internal resources
• Work with assigned QA Manager/QA Lead to be informed of project test tracking and important items for additional follow-up
• Take decisions to balance scope, cost, quality and time in project to deliver most satisfactory output to client
• Write project reports for progress tracking and control, create guidelines or technical documents for client (if required)
