1. Technical Requirements

## Essential Skills:

• Proficiency with the English language (reading and writing essential).
• Good communication skills, and the ability to manage tasks independently.
• Ability to work through and understand problems, and communicate efficiently with a team to solve knowledge gaps.
• Solid experience in SQL - with an emphasis on PostgreSQL. This is an essential skill, the candidate must have a high level of proficiency and have worked with either MySQL or PostgreSQL at a production level.
• Solid experience in writing and maintaining NodeJS backend APIs, including proficiency in handling Javascript Asynchronous operations and abstractions such as Promises.
• Solid experience with Javascript is essential, while we use abstractions, a grounding in the foundations of Javascript is essential.

## Required Skills - with some flexibility on experience with the following technologies.

• Experience with AWS Lambda and AWS API Gateway.
• Some understanding of AWS Cloud Formation Templates.
• Experience with HTTPS and TLS.
• Experience with writing and reading YAML formatted files.
• Experience with yarn or npm (we use yarn).
• Experience with webpack.
• Ability to work with bespoke code abstractions: (we use a Monad Transformer Stack, written in Javascript and modeled from Haskell - understanding the stack is not important - being capable of working with the very simple abstraction it provides is essential).
• Experience with ORMs (in particular BookshelfJS).

2. Personality Requirements

• Passion for the digital space
• A track record of developing stable, foundational code and applications
• Good teamwork skills
• Proactive and opinionated where it relates to technical architecture, code quality or user experience
• Easy going aspect and a good sense of humour
• Excellent command of the English language both written and spoken will be highly regarded

3. Bonus skills

• Experience with the following Javascript libraries and abstractions: RamdaJS, BookshelfJS, KnexJS, Mocha and Chai
• Proficiency in speaking and understanding spoken English.
• Knowledge of serverless (cloud agnostic) framework - in particular its use with AWS Cloud Formation.
• Experience with AWS Step Functions
