ABOUT THE FUNCTION

At GFG, Technology is core to long-term success and is a crucial enabler of a great Customer Experience. We are a mix of experts in fashion, logistics, data analytics, marketing, and design, guided by business consultants and tech geniuses – everyone contributes to the success of GFG.

As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing a chapter of full-stack software engineers. You will drive the progress of the product. You will report to the Senior Director of Engineering, and work with Product and Scrum leaders, data scientists and engineers.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

You will be working closely with other people in the teams to provide architectural vision and strategy for GFG’s internal tools suite, and you will have the capability to provide detailed technical guidance to the team, enabling them to execute more effectively and deliver products on time. 

You will also investigate the latest technologies to improve site reliability, the developer experience and raw performance. Furthermore, you also would have experience in mentoring, coaching and retaining talent as People are our greatest assets.

Yêu cầu công việc

  • Proficiency in full-stack web development including Javascript, ES6+ and NodeJS.
  • Good understanding of AWS (our stack is powered by Lambda).
  • Experience building web apps, PWAs and their accompanying APIs.
  • Experience using ReactJS.
  • 7+ years of experience with distributed systems and client-server architectures, 2+ years of experience in a leadership role with current technical expertise.
  • A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competency in data structures, algorithms, software design and deep understanding of software design patterns.
  • Humility, a strong sense of purpose and a strong value system.
  • Hold yourself and your team accountable to high engineering standards.
  • Ability to hire and groom strong software engineering talent and to develop a happy, high-performing team.
  • Ability to manage team dynamics, understand and tailor development to the career aspirations of team members.
