Key Responsibilities

1. Installation, deployment & operation

- Remote installation and maintenance of servers which are part of Swisslog IT driven warehousing solutions

- Develop, run and maintain Ansible playbooks to ensure standardized, efficient and reliable installations according to Swisslog and customers’ demands.

- Administrate and maintain High Availability Clusters (VMware-, Linux-, or Windows-based) 

2. Support

Support customers in production to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. 
Eliminate bugs and open points in existing systems, or in systems that were put to production lately.

- Handling and root-cause analysing of incidents

-  Part of 24/7 server standby group
(Starting slow with day-shift and colleagues who are happy to help during onboarding!)

3. Maintenance

Regular and on-demand system health-checks

- Coordination of maintenance tasks and -window between Swisslog and customer

- Execution of previously defined maintenance task sequence

- Create maintenance report containing findings, interpretation, and recommendations.

-  Execute maintenance tasks according to scope definition with team/customer.

 4. Contribution

Taking part and contribute within department- and project-meetings.

-  A high level of contribution is expected, especially with regards to collaboration with internal and external customers

-  Actively contribute to the deliverables of the team.

-  Work close with the international teams in other regions.

-  Innovation is key within IT sector and recommendations for improvements are seriously appreciated.

5. Documentation

- Keep the documentation within the ITSS-aligned toolchain up to date.

- Create documentation containing information according to receiver (eg. Customer / IT-technician).

Job Requirement: 

 Microsoft Windows Server & -Client operating systems

                    Integrated tools and technologies (eg. storage spaces direct, Hyper-V,…)

                     Powershell

-  Linux:  Bash

•   VMWare

                  HA Clustering

                   VMWare CLI

 •   Being used to European working style (time difference, etc.) as Swisslog is a company containing Swiss-DNA

•   Ability to work on projects, do small or mid changes autonomously

•   Knowhow in supporting production systems

Educational / Professional Qualifications

Essential - at least 4 of the following:

•   Degree in computing or related subject

•   Microsoft Server- and Client Operating Systems

•   RedHat  Enterprise Linux Operating System

•   VMware ESXi hypervisors

•   Scripting on OS-command-line (at least one of Bash / Powershell / VMware CLI)

•   Written and verbally fluent in English

 Desirable

•   Microsoft Azure

•   Hyper converged- / SAN- storage technologies

•   Ansible

•   Check_MK

•   Hewlett Packard Enterprise Products (physical and virtual eg. iLo)

•   Reading/writing German ability is a plus.
