Job Description

We are a full-service gaming agency based in Spain. We combine a highly talented group of gaming industry veterans with a simple and scalable business model to provide best-in-class service to any organization big or small.

We are looking for a data engineer to join our team. This role focuses on data-driven automation and decision-making to enable the best user experience across our games. You will build a data platform for our studio from scratch in the cloud using cutting-edge tools and technologies empowering engineers and data scientists to create games that are extremely fun to play and also highly performant.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines and data solutions. 
• Choose and manage tools and technologies to build and support a robust data infrastructure.
• Own data modeling and schema design of our data warehouse.
• Create monitoring and alerting for all data platform components to ensure flawless operations.
• Prepare training materials and educate engineers and data scientists on how to send and consume data to/from the data platform effectively.
• Ensure proper data backup solutions are in place.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve the performance of all data pipelines.

Job Requirements

Must-have 

• At least 3 years of relevant software engineering experience with an emphasis on data, preferably in Python 
• Fluency in SQL and experience with relational dimensional data modeling
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks like Apache Spark
• Experience with event-driven systems based on distributed streaming platforms like Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis
• Experience with orchestration services like AirFlow, Prefect, or Luigi
• Experience building and optimizing batch and real-time data processing pipelines
• Familiarity with Linux environment, including bash, command-line tools, and Docker
• Good spoken and written English 

Nice to have: 

• Prior experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deliver a big plus
• Prior experience with systems monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus and Grafana is a big plus
