Fika is Vietnam’s fastest-growing AI social & dating app, founded by CEO Denise Sandquist and CTO Oscar Xing Luo in June 2020. With over 1 million downloads, Fika has quickly become one of Vietnam’s biggest social & dating apps and fastest-growing startups. 

We boast a team of 40 people with an equal gender ratio and a median age of 27, having a hybrid working structure from our Fika Villa in the heart of Thao Dien. The position 

We're looking for someone who can take a leadership role in a fast-growing startup and lead a team of backend engineers to write efficient code and make critical technical decisions. We expect you to know a lot of different skills that can come into play during development.

Working tasks & key responsibilities

• Lead a team of awesome engineers with a great work ethic for a product with millions of users
• Identify opportunities to scale engineering solutions, APIs, and optimize performance 
• Instill a culture of innovation and consistent coding conventions
• Design and write scalable APIs and infrastructure with Python, Go, or a modern framework to handle high volumes of traffic
• Explain trade-offs for technical decisions and execute based on Product requirements 
• Design databases in NoSQL systems such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis
• Build and maintain state-of-the-art chat systems using multiple technologies
• Explore message brokers like RabbitMQ and Apache Kafka 

The ideal candidate

• Extensive knowledge in OOP languages such as Python or Post-OOP languages like Golang
• Leadership experience for a team of backend engineers in fast-paced environments
• Designed comprehensive system architecture diagrams
• Worked with different databases such as SQL and NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Experience building microservice architectures
• Deployed large-scale apps on AWS, GCP, or Azure

We look for candidates with at least 4+ years in development and at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. We want great coders that have a problem-solving mindset.
