As a Senior Full Stack Developer (Ruby on Rails) - your role involves both technical development and stakeholder facing project lead responsibilities to create suitable solutions, using industry best practices.
You’ll be joining a highly skilled hardware team and holistic thinkers who aim to exceed expectations every day. You will be working closely with not only other developers (fullstack, mobile, front and back-end), but also product designers, strategists and founders to bring new ideas into the world through world class integrated applications.
Working with cutting edge technology and solving the unsolved, you will need a critical focus on driving reuse, efficiency and best practice.
Armed with a robust understanding of web based front-end frameworks such as React or Vue, and complementing backend technologies such as serverless infrastructure - you will play a critical role in the team from ideation and scoping through to delivery. You'll also bring the latest thinking when it comes to technology to the team and our clients.
The role requires experience with both web and backend API and database development. Excellent analytical and development skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are also must-haves, as is an ability to think, operate and communicate at both a technical and non-technical level.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
5+ years experience in the digital technology space covering some of the following:
• Web development (React, Vue or similar)
• MVC or Serverless API development (Ruby on Rails / Elixir / Phoenix, PHP / Laravel or AWS / Firebase / Azure Serverless Technologies)
• Relational Databases & SQL, or NoSQL data stores.
Most importantly, a requirement to help design and implement a suitably scalable solution to meet the requirements for the new platform, including:
• Developing with reusability in mind
• Working in highly collaborative teams but also independently
• Self learning and paying attention to the constantly changing development landscape
• FLUENT English both verbal & written
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Frontend development, Backend development, DevOps processes
• Constant learning and experimentation with new technology
• Independently and collaboratively estimate and deliver projects with cross-functional team members
• Review and understand requirements and scope of solutions
• Work with team leads to shape practical approaches and estimates
• Write clear and concise documentation
• Support our teams and clients in the creation and implementation of product roadmaps and release plans
• Help share knowledge and experience throughout the team and the greater agency
• Have an understanding of balancing priorities based on resources, budget and timelines
EXPECTATIONS
• Can prioritise your own time, also project work and other capabilities within the project, and advise others (including the client) on the priority of work, the implications of particular decisions, and suggest alternatives if appropriate
• “Joins the dots” really well; you understand the implications of one thing on another seemingly unrelated thing, can foresee interactions between different pieces of work
• Partners closely with the Product Owner (PO) to manage and oversee the project build, communicating with the client if need be and assisting the PO in understanding and foreseeing technical and other challenges
• Takes ownership and personal responsibility of a project and “leads the charge” to deliver it to a high standard
• Understands the best approach to solve a particular problem; specifically, when flexibility is required, and when it is not, and this guides your judgement on solution design
• Takes an interest in mentoring and developing other developers, and helps them by guiding them to solve their own problems with patient suggestions
• A strong team player who is focused on achieving the best objectives for the wider team
• You work well and collaborate with others, and you can take directions as effectively when part of a team as you might give them when leading that team
