CloudStorm Ventures is looking for Ruby on Rails Team Leader to join our Engineering team on our mission to deliver world-class, user friendly applications to North American markets.

Our global Engineering team works around the clock building innovative solutions that help our customers in senior living and healthcare industries, charity golf tournaments, ski resort waivers and veterinary services.

As part of our Engineering team, your mission is to stay on top of the latest releases, contribute to projects, and deliver the best quality solutions for our customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Design and develop new features for our best in class foodservice management software.
• Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code.
• Supervise and support other developers in fulfilling tasks as well as improving their skills.
• Analyze client requirements to develop functional and technical software requirements.
• Participate in regular and on-demand leadership meetings.
• Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
• Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
• Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.
• Maintain and troubleshoot existing application.
• Collaborates with development, QA, product and customer support teams all over the world.
• Present new and innovative ideas.
• Helping team members with a collaborative spirit.
• Contributes to maintaining an open, friendly and innovative working environment for every member.

Must have:

• For Team Lead: 5+ years of overall software development experience using Ruby and Rails framework and 2+ years of experience leading team. 
• For Senior:  3+ years of overall software development experience using Ruby and Rails framework 
• Strong insight into Ruby syntax and its nuances.
• Experience consuming and designing RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with Redis and Sidekiq.
• Solid SQL / relational database experience (Postgres is a plus).
• Experience with version control (Git, GitHub).

Nice to have:

• A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Understanding of Agile development and Scrum practices.
• A passion for helping people with a collaborative spirit.
• Ability to work as part of a team, understand the problems of other team members, and when necessary, go above and beyond the job description to work towards a broader team goal.
