ROLE OVERVIEW:

As the Director of Engineering, your primary mission will be to strengthen the leadership and performance of product development teams, with a focus on the printing business sector.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both people management and system engineering—able to identify and address challenges in developing our web platform. This role is crucial for building a resilient, scalable engineering organization while ensuring our technical architecture enables effective large-scale service integration through M&A, all aligned with our long-term goals.

You will also help establish RAKSUL as a recognized global engineering brand. Quarterly leadership discussions will take place on-site in Ho Chi Minh City or Tokyo.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the design and architecture of the B2B mass customization platform, ensuring effective integration of multiple services—including newly acquired businesses—while maximizing customer experience.
• Define and manage the technical roadmap for multiple projects, collaborating closely with Product Managers.
• Establish OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and guide the organization towards autonomy while ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities to expand our B2B platform capabilities while driving continuous improvements in system performance and architecture.
• Lead strategic budget planning and resource allocation for product development, ensuring investments align with business objectives.
• Work closely with design, engineering, and product teams to ensure E-Commerce services integration and system performance goals are met.
• Develop a talent management strategy, focusing on development and succession planning.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

QUALIFICATION

• At least 10 years of experience in software development engineering, with a focus on microservices-based web platforms.
• 5+ years of experience in leadership roles managing teams and developing organizations, including oversight of engineering teams with 30+ software engineers.
• Proven experience in program and project management, particularly in aligning teams across multiple regions and stakeholders.
• Experience with objective-oriented goal setting and organizational planning for a time horizon of 1+ years.
• Demonstrated experience in budget procurement, control, and optimization.
• Vendor management experience, particularly with outsourcing partners.
• Strong expertise in tracking, analyzing, and visualizing key performance metrics for software engineering teams.

OTHER SKILLS

• Experience with cloud-based infrastructures (e.g., AWS, GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of modern software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
• Strong technical expertise in relevant languages or frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, etc.).
• Experience leading teams in a high-growth environment, scaling from startup to enterprise.
• Familiarity with e-commerce, mass customization, or finance platforms.
