We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Java Spring Boot, NodeJS, and AWS to join our platform team at Obello. You’ll play a critical role in designing and implementing high-performance backend services for media conversion, processing, and design export. You will help ensure that Obello's core infrastructure is robust, scalable, and optimized for seamless creative content delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of media processing services, including file conversions (image, animation, video), compression, and rendering workflows
• Design and implement serverless architecture (AWS Lambda) and event-driven systems to manage media workflows at scale
• Build scalable backend APIs for template exports, multi-format rendering, and real-time previews
• Optimize performance of media processing pipelines (e.g., FFmpeg, image processors) for high-quality outputs at low latency
• Collaborate closely with frontend, AI, and product teams to support smart design exports and animated content delivery
• Own system reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency of backend infrastructure
• Ensure security, error resilience, and performance monitoring in cloud-based production environments

• 8+ years of backend development experience in Java (Spring Boot) and NodeJS
• Proven experience with AWS services including Lambda, S3, EC2, MediaConvert, SQS, etc
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems
• Experience working with media processing tools such as FFmpeg, canvas-node, and video transcoding services
• Strong knowledge of API design, asynchronous processing, and RESTful best practices
• Experience in building high-throughput, low-latency systems handling large files (images, videos, animations)

Bonus Skills

• Hands-on experience in building graphic or media-focused SaaS platforms
• Knowledge of video codecs, SVG processing, or Lottie animation format
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and Docker/Kubernetes
• Familiarity with AI-assisted media pipelines or real-time rendering systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional experience in backend SaaS Platform development.
• Previous experience working in a SaaS Platform product at scale
