We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the development of our B2B products (focused on our B2B business segment and ELSA Speak for Schools initiatives) and our Core Backend Platform. You will manage a team of full-stack engineers, driving high-quality technical execution across both backend and frontend systems while collaborating closely with product and design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

• Own the architecture and technical delivery of B2B products including Admin Dashboards, School Delivery systems, and Speech Analyzer.
• Contribute to technical design decisions across the teams projects and ensure alignment with product goals.
• Mentor and guide the engineering team, enabling them to grow and perform at their best.

Infrastructure and Operations:

• Maintain the health of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure supporting B2B products.
• Define and track service availability and performance goals for your teams systems.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical and operational challenges.

Team Collaboration and Growth:

• Enable your team to work efficiently and independently by fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Encourage innovation and experimentation in product development while maintaining high-quality standards.

Code Quality and Best Practices:

• Ensure code quality, reliability, and maintainability across backend and frontend systems.
• Advocate for automation, test-driven development, and other practices to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
• Maintain a deep understanding of architectural patterns and cloud-based system design.

Customer-Focused Delivery:

• Translate customer needs, feedback, and business requirements into technical solutions for B2B products.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to prioritize features and ensure successful delivery.

Core Technologies

• Backend: Strong experience with Python in production environments
• Frontend: Working knowledge of Vue.js (or similar modern JS frameworks)
• Architecture: Microservices-based systems, RESTful APIs
• Databases: Relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL)
• Caching & Performance: Redis or equivalent

Cloud & DevOps

• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Monitoring, logging, and alerting in production systems
• Understanding of scalability, availability, and fault tolerance

Engineering Practices

• Familiarity with modern SDLC, agile delivery, and release management
• Strong understanding of code review, testing strategies, and technical documentation
• Experience balancing feature delivery with technical debt management

Experience & Seniority

• 6-10+ years of software engineering experience
• 2-4+ years in an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead–with–people-management role
• Proven track record of delivering complex products in production
• Strong communication skills, able to align technical execution with business goals
• Fluent in English
