Qualifications:

• Have 4 years of experience
• An advanced degree (Masters, Ph.D) in a field related to data science (i.e., applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or computer science).
• Experience with statistical machine learning, AI, i.e., must have demonstrated excellence in at least three of the following methods/techniques: Random forests, Linear/Logistic regression, regularization techniques, Support vector machines, Factorization machines, Gradient boosting, Clustering techniques, SVD, ALS, etc.
• Knowledge of deep learning (tools: TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch; networks: CNN, LSTM, …)
• Ability to read research papers and implement them in practice.
• Strong coding experience in Python/Scalar, C++
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well both independently as well as part of a team.
• Good English. 

Preferred skills:

• Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystems technologies like HDFS, Spark, etc.
• Industry experience in designing and implementing recommender systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of (rep. transfer for) reinforcement learning and natural language processing is a plus.
• Online/mini-batch learning techniques: SGD, FTRL, L-BFGS, etc.
• A/B tests, Bayesian bandit (i.e., multi-armed bandit algorithms).
• Experience with large datasets.
• Experience in online advertising.
• Practical experience with cloud based services like AWS is a plus
