This position plays a key role in CIMB Vietnam IT Department as an expert in database technology. This role main purpose is to keep updated with the latest database technology and apply to CIMB Vietnam systems to ensure the high efficiency of existing databases, analyse and foresee any potential issues and provide immediate and prompt solutions for database problems if happening.
Monitoring:
- Managing and monitoring database for user access and security.
- Performance monitoring and managing database setting parameters to provide fast responses
- Further refining the database design to meet system storage requirements.
- Maintaining data standards.
- Controlling access permissions and privileges.
- Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly, database high availability for Test environment, production environment
- Play role of troubleshooting for issues/problems originating from applications in production environment.
• Do planning/documentation for supporting tasks, progress reports to managers and adhere to delivery schedules.
• Supporting for various members from different teams on daily work that related production environment
Setting:
- Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).
Designing:
- Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans.

Your Skills and Experience
Qualifications (Basic Degree/Diploma etc)
• Bachelor's Degree in IT/Computer Science/MIS/BIS or related.
Relevant Work Experience
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in Database Administration/ Monitoring job
• Experiences in Banking is a plus but not required
Technical/Functional skills
- Administration of MySQL Enterprise
- Experience installing, configuring MySQL database replication.
- Knowledge of logical and physical data modelling
- Critical Thinking, Logical Thinking and Analyzing skill are require
- Writing TSQL scripts and objects such as stored procedures, user-defined functions, views, indexes per business requirements.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux
- Familiarity with Setting up database high availability, DR Database for MySQL
- Administration of MySQL database services in AWS/Azure
- Good communication in English
Personal skills (Soft Competencies [Core/Leadership])
• Strong presentation and influencing skills, required in guiding and assisting teams in putting forward proposals for clients, whenever necessary
• Good researching skills
• Dynamic, honest and active at work.
• Fluency in English
• Ability talk both Technical Language and Business Language is an advantage
